Break Free from Drug Addiction Foundation (BFFDAF)
Break Free from Drug Addiction Foundation (BFFDAF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Ghana dedicated to preventing drug addiction, particularly among the youth. Founded with a vision to create a drug-free generation, BFFDAF adopts a comprehensive approach, focusing on prevention, rehabilitation, and the reintegration of former addicts into society. Our operations cover urban and rural communities, with a focus on areas with high unemployment and poverty rates— major contributors to drug abuse in Ghana.

Our story
James Kwame Peprah, a passionate Mental Health Advocate, founded BFFDAF with co-founders Ismaila Tetteh, Ebenezer Appah and Samuel Armah as well as Jephthah Gyetuah Kofi, Emmanuel Amankaah, Mark Sampson Korblatsey Amegayie, Alex Biney, Rama Yalley Ashun, Nsiah Enock Jnr. & Charles Asare growing up, they witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of drug addiction, with close friends and family members falling victim to its life-shattering effects. These personal experiences deeply shaped their understanding of drug addiction as not just an individual struggle but a community issue. Forming Break Free from Drug Addiction Foundation was their bold response to this crisis, driven by a strong desire to prevent others from suffering the same fate. What started as a personal mission is now a collective call to action, uniting communities, youth, and stakeholders in the fight against drug addiction.
